when it comes

Unexpectedly, a news came and I was aghast because a day before, my mother-in-law was so exuberant and full of glee and all of a sudden she's gone at 7 a.m. in the morning of Feb. 20, 2009. It was so unexpected and I came to realize that demise is a trick. Either it eludes you or not and you will be just surprised when it comes.

She is 85 years old and this Feb. 21 is her birthday. How come that many deaths happen when their birthdays are near? How come death arrives when an unusual bliss is there?

I was close to her, Mrs. Rosalina Dantes. Whenever we needed help we run to her. When we paid a visit she fed us with the best food ever because she was an excellent cook. I've learned some cooking tips from her the reason why i am a good cook, too. Actually, better because of her secret cooking tips and learned from the heart.

I think her death is a gift. God didn't want her to suffer any longer because she was suffering from an illness. Letting her go means we love her so dearly.

I know she has a place in heaven reserved for her. Bon voyage mommy!

50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY - GOLDEN WEDDING

Earlier than expected, we were at the church for the 4:pm ceremony of jun and dely's golden wedding anniversary and the mass started just 5 minutes past 4:00 pm. The beauty of performing for a golden wedding are the music choices made and we as performing artists want something different. Music that has soul. Music that we can express artistry.


The sound system in the church was not that good but we managed to do something to improve the quality of our sound. Of course, we are trained to control the sound that we put on to really show we are professionals and the joy of performing is enough to compensate. It's priceless.

During the reception, the guests enjoyed our music because we did out of love. We were not there to show we are good but we were there to emphatize the moment and using our music as a venue.

And to end my moment with borrowed time, I am happy with this little share of thoughts for you.

propriety of music

we are engaged in wedding music and we always remind our clients to fit their music selections during the church ceremony from the very start meaning the prelude music down to the recessional march.

prelude music is something to set the mood of the guests as the entourage are prepared for the walk and when procession starts, of course a music is played and a classical piece is preferred and when the bride walks the aisles, a love song of their choice is acceptable or their theme song if there is any...it has to be mellow or with a solemn touch or else the officiating minister will offer you a questioning look.

throughout the course of the ceremony, the music has to be liturgical in nature and when the ceremony is over and souvenir shots follow then love songs are appropriate to be performed...not the fast ones, mind you or else the solemnity is tarnished...

of course, the final walk has to be a bit festive but properly chosen...
